Morning Date Smoothie

Packed with protein and fiber, this simple smoothie is a great way to start your day but honestly delicious enough to satisfy a dessert craving if you’re trying to eat healthier.

That sweetness comes naturally from the dates and bananas so there’s no need for any other added sweeteners. We love the combination of almond with the other flavors in this smoothie, but feel free to play around with other milks and butters. Pro tip: blend in a spoonful of ground flaxseed for extra fiber to keep you feeling full longer.

Date Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 4-5 pitted dates (we recommend Medjool)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup almond or sunflower butter
  • 1 frozen banana (be sure to slice and freeze for more effortless blending)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2-1 cup ice (depends on desired consistency)

Instructions

  • Place ingredients in blender and blend. If the consistency is too thick for you, add more of your liquid ingredients and continue to blend to your liking.
