Cast Iron Baked Brie

A one-pan, crowd-pleasing starter that’s ready in a flash.

Serves: 6 people

Time: 25 minutes

Who doesn't love an easy yet impressive appetizer that's dinner party approved?

With four ingredients that all go straight into the cast iron, this couldn’t be easier. The fig jam adds just the right amount of sweetness to the creamy, earthy and slightly funky warm Brie. Serve this up with crackers or a sliced baguette.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) Brie round
    2-3 tbsp fig jam
    1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (1 ounce)
    1/4 cup dried cranberries, optional

Instructions

step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Cut a piece of parchment paper into a circle to fit in the bottom of a small (6-inch) cast-iron skillet. Unwrap cheese and place in skillet. (Do not trim rind from cheese.) Spread jam over top, sprinkle with walnuts and, if desired, cranberries.

step 2

Bake until cheese is soft to the touch, about 5 minutes. Remove from oven; cool in skillet for 5 minutes before serving.
