Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add in butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Once the butter has melted, add onions and season with salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce. Stir to coat and cook over low heat (about 25 minutes), adding more oil to the pan if it gets dry. Add the minced garlic and cook for 5 minutes more. Remove from heat and allow to cool down.

In a medium-sized bowl, add sour cream and mayonnaise, and stir to combine. Add in Worcestershire, hot sauce, garlic powder and onion powder. Fold in caramelized onions and chives before seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for at least one hour but preferably overnight. Serve garnished with dill, chives and freshly cracked black pepper.
