Ginger Orange Spritzer

And that is especially true for this flavor-filled mocktail. Yes, we're asking you to make a homemade simple syrup, and recommending you squeeze a few oranges. But the extra steps are what make this drink feel and taste special. After all, you deserve to treat yourself to something special. The ginger beer combines perfectly with the orange and mint, and gives the drink a delightful effervescence. Enjoy by the glass or by the pitcher if preparing for a crowd.

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, plus more for garnish
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
- Ice, for serving
- 4 cups ginger beer

Instructions

step 1

Make simple syrup in a small saucepan. Add sugar, water, mint and vanilla, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for one more minute to dissolve sugar. Allow mixture to come to room temperature. Strain and set to the side.

step 2

Pour ½ cup orange juice to a glass with 1 teaspoon simple syrup. Stir to combine. Add ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with additional mint and orange slices.
