Holiday White Sangria

Sangria is typically something that we think about drinking on a warm Summer day. But adding warming spices to our simple syrup makes this feel like the Holidays in a cup and perfect for your holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

- 1 bottle dry white wine (like riesling or sauvignon blanc)
- 1/4 cup Holiday Simple Syrup (see below)
- 1/4 cup pear brandy
- 1/4 cup apple cider
- 1 bottle Prosecco

- Holiday Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup fine white sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cardamom pods
- 1 star anise
- 1 vanilla bean

Instructions

For Holiday Simple Syrup: Place fine white sugar, water, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cardamom pods, star anise, and vanilla bean in a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Pulse and strain mixture before using.

For Holiday White Sangria: Combine dry white wine, Holiday Simple Syrup, pear brandy, apple cider, and Prosecco in a punch bowl. Serve in glasses lined with sliced pear or apple and a cinnamon-sugar rim.
