Pineapple Upside Down Skillet Cake
A fool-proof dessert to impress your guests.
We love a baking hack, especially the ones that look harder than they are.

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare the cake mix according to package directions and set aside. Melt the butter in a 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat, then remove from heat and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the melted butter.
Step 2
Arrange the drained pineapple rings in a single layer in the skillet. Place 1 maraschino cherry inside the center of each pineapple ring. Carefully pour the cake batter over the pineapple layer.
Step 3
Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 28 to 30 minutes. Cool in the skillet for 20 minutes, then run a knife around the edges and invert the cake onto a serving plate.
