Smoky Jam Margarita

Jam is the secret ingredient to a flavorful margarita.

A balanced, refreshing cocktail is easier than you think to make at home.

And a good jam makes a great margarita. We like how apricot jam balances the smoky salt rim in this version, but nearly any jam will work here. Try for yourself the margarita hack Ayesha swears by.

Ingredients

- 4 oz tequila
- 1 oz orange-flavored liqueur (such as Grand Marnier)
- Juice of 2 limes
- 2 tbsp apricot jam
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp raw sugar
- Lime wedges, garnish

Instructions

Add salt, sugar, and smoked paprika to a shallow bowl and mix well. Set aside.

step 2

Add tequila, orange-flavored liqueur, lime juice, and jam in a large cocktail shaker. Stir to break up the jam then fill with ice. Shake well until the outside of the cocktail shaker is very cold and you can run your figure through the frost. Dip each glass into some water or agave syrup and then into the smoky salt mixture. Fill each glass with ice and strain the margaritas into the glasses. Garnish with lime wedges.
