Naked Turkey and Smashed Avocado Burger

A light and satisfying burger so delicious you won't miss the bun.

Time: 30 minutes

Yes, we all love a good burger. But some days, we can do without the bun and be just fine!

This lettuce-wrapped turkey burger layers herby smashed avocado and a spicy mayo sauce so tasty you'll want to slather it on everything.

Ingredients

    • 1 pound ground turkey
    • 1 tbsp oil for frying
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/2 tsp onion powder
    • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
    • 1/4 tsp black pepper
    • Sliced tomato for topping
    • Lettuce, for wrapping
    • SMASHED AVOCADO
    • 2 avocados, pitted
    • 1/3 cup cilantro, finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup red onion, minced
    • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • SAUCE
    • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tbsp sriracha
    • 1 tbsp ketchup
    • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

step 1

In a large bowl, add ground turkey, mayo and seasonings. Mix gently until well incorporated. Make 4-inch diameter patties.

step 2

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through and lightly browned.

step 3

Serve with smashed avocado and tomato slices wrapped in lettuce, with Spicy Mayo dipping sauce on the side.

step 4

For the smashed avocado, mash all the ingredients together in a bowl until fully incorporated.
